JET Arrives in Mexico and Consolidates Micromobility Model with Two Successful Pilot Programs in Mexico City

San Pedro Garza García marked the start of operations in the country, while two pilot exercises in the capital validated the potential of electric scooters as a high‑demand urban mobility solution.

Following its official arrival in Mexico, JET — a shared electric scooter operator — began operations in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León, while consolidating its presence in Mexico City through two active mobility pilot programs, confirming with real results the potential of electric micromobility in the capital.

On May 3, 2026, JET participated in an active mobility pilot exercise coordinated by the Mexico City Ministry of Mobility (SEMOVI) , with the support of the Undersecretariat of Traffic Control and the Coyoacán Borough.

In this pilot, the company deployed more than 200 electric scooters at five strategic points along the Calzada de Tlalpan corridor, with the goal of connecting citizens to the Mexico City Stadium in a sustainable way — at no cost to participants.

The operation recorded high demand on inbound trips (more than 250 trips throughout the day) and efficient performance on stadium exit trips during the return. Citizen response was overwhelmingly positive, with smooth operation all day.

Adoption, Integration, and Response

JET conducted its second pilot in Mexico City on May 9 during the Liga MX quarterfinal match between Cruz Azul and Atlas, held at the Banorte Stadium. For this exercise, the company deployed a fleet of 150 electric scooters at strategic points, recording more than 300 trips.

A particularly relevant data point: at the end of the match, fans massively adopted the scooters as a last‑mile solution to reach the General Anaya station — with such high occupancy that less than 10% of the units remained available by the close of the operation.

The result confirms that the electric scooter works not only as access to the event but also as a spontaneous exit solution in high‑concentration contexts.

The combined results of both exercises validate JET’s operational model in Mexico City: high citizen adoption, natural integration with public transport, and response capacity in high‑traffic events.

Electric micromobility is consolidating itself as an efficient complement to the capital’s urban transport system, especially on short trips and in high‑demand situations.

Expansion Strategy

Mexico is a strategic market for JET due to its urban dynamism and the growing need for more efficient mobility solutions. The two pilots in Mexico City gave us something that no market study can replace: real evidence of how citizens spontaneously and enthusiastically adopt micromobility. That gives us great confidence for the next steps in the country,” said Victor Coelho, LATAM Public Relations Manager at JET.

Entry into the Mexican market is part of JET’s international expansion strategy, which seeks to consolidate its presence in Latin America through accessible, practical micromobility solutions aligned with current urban dynamics.

With operations since 2023, the company is already present in more than 48 cities in Brazil, 6 communes in Chile, and now Mexico — adding presence in nine countries across Latin America, Europe, and Central Asia.

JET reaffirms its commitment to collaborate with local authorities and key stakeholders to continue expanding sustainable mobility solutions in Mexico, contributing to more connected, efficient cities with less dependence on the car.
