Latam Mobility Day: Clean Fuels Summit to Bring Hydrogen, Natural Gas and Biofuels Together in One Day

  • Clean Fuels will be the focus of the first edition of Latam Mobility Day 2022.
  • Representatives of key companies from the energy sector will address the current state of biofuels in Latin America.
  • The meeting will feature a panel dedicated exclusively to hydrogen as the fuel of tomorrow.

On February 10, the Spanish speaking public will have the opportunity to learn about the progress, perspectives and future of clean fuels in Latin America and the world at the first edition of Latam Mobility Day: Clean Fuels, a free virtual Summit organized by the largest sustainable mobility community in Latin America, Latam Mobility.

The International Energy Agency (EIA) forecasts an increase of between 25% and 30% in global energy demand by 2040, which would mean an exponential rise in environmental damage and an aggravation of the climate crisis for those economies dependent on coal and oil.

In order to reverse these effects, development and promotion of new alternatives to fossil fuels are key factors to generate new scenarios for the energy transition, and it is at this point where hydrogen figures as a key player. Therefore, the Summit organized by Latam Mobility will bring together relevant industry representatives in order to project its uses within different sectors.

On the other hand, Natural Gas (NG), recently defined by the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) as “a viable, affordable and reliable option to accelerate the decarbonization process” will also be part of the agenda, as it will be discussed as an allied fuel to reduce emissions on the transportation sector.

The first Latam Mobility meeting of 2022 will also address e-Fuels or synthetic fuels, as they represent an innovative option for transportation systems, offering the possibility of being manufactured through renewable sources.

Latam Mobility Day: Clean Fuels will be broadcasted openly and free of charge through different digital platforms of the organization, such as Youtube, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.

The event will also include the launch of H2 Business News, the fifth Invest in Latam initiative, which will debut as the first community and content portal on clean fuels.
