ANAC Celebrates 30 Years Promoting Sustainable Mobility

The National Automotive Association of Chile (ANAC) celebrated its 30th Anniversary with a focus on sustainable mobility and important goals achieved in the country.

The organization brings together importers and representatives of automobiles, buses, trucks and machinery with a presence in the country.

In this sense, Sebastián de Cárcer, President of ANAC, explained that mobility is a right that implies that all people have access to efficient and safe transportation systems, which ultimately improve their quality of life, both at work and personally, thus providing equal opportunities for all.

The executive pointed out that Chile has the opportunity and the challenge of being a leader in the production of lithium, hydrogen and energy obtained from renewable sources.

Sustainable Future

“The message for the future that we are delivering today is that we must be the leaders in sustainable mobility and for that we must move towards a tax modernization of the automotive sector, through joint work between the public and private sectors to leave behind coal-fired power plants and promote new sources of energy,” he said.

De Cárcer emphasized that in order to achieve the objectives, incentives are necessary to move to the massification level.

“In a scenario that makes it urgent to achieve the goal of Carbon Neutrality by 2050, where projections indicate that by that date 68% of the world population will live in cities and the circulation of more connected, electrified and autonomous vehicles will be massive, it is necessary to rethink the need to promote a new mobility, a sustainable mobility,” said the President of ANAC.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Transport and Telecommunications of Chile, Juan Carlos Muñoz, sectorial authorities, directors, entrepreneurs and executives of the industry.
