Argentina: Launch of Sustainable Mobility Plan in San Juan

The Ministry of Government of San Juan, Argentina, in coordination with the Secretariat of Transit and Transportation, Transit Department and Mobility Planning, presented the Sustainable Mobility Plan for the province.

The Minister of Government, Alberto Hensel, commented that the initiative is of great futuristic character through a dynamic program that seeks economic and population growth.

“We are moving towards modernization on a par with the world, with one of the newest and most environmentally friendly fleets in the country and at the forefront of electromobility, while at the same time attending to the day-to-day needs of all the people of San Juan in their daily transportation,” said the official.

Renovation with Innovation

The Secretary of Transit and Transportation, Jorge Armendariz, said that the reality of public transportation in San Juan had to do with a system with collapsed points, which needed a renovation.

He assures that this plan sets the bar very high with respect to the service, always bearing in mind that mobility is vital for the development of the province and of all citizens.

One of the main proposals of the plan is to improve the system with the creation of the necessary infrastructure for the increased use of bicycles and electric vehicles.

It should be noted that the program contemplates a total of 49 proposals that could help improve the transportation system in San Juan and that will be available to the incoming administration.
