The Argentine Automotive Dealers Association (ACARA), published its quarterly report on electromobility in the country, which reflects a 45.8% increase in the sale of hybrid and electric vehicles compared to the same period of 2023.
Likewise, the guild recorded an increase of 47.1% compared to the first quarter.
The report details that during the second quarter of the year, 3,672 units of hybrid and pure electric vehicles were patented in Argentina. The referred figure is 45.8% higher than that of the same quarter in 2023 and 47.1% higher than that of the first quarter of the year.

Data Breakdown
ACARA details that of the 45.8% there are 47.1% of hybrid vehicles (HEV), 28.1% of micro-hybrids (MHEV) and 80% of 100% electric vehicles (EV).
In the accumulated for the semester, the number of registrations reached 6,169 units, which represents 32.7% more than during the same six months of 2023.
It is worth mentioning that there are currently 36,400 hybrid or electric vehicles in circulation in Argentina, where almost 90% of them are hybrid vehicles (HEV).
The most widely used technology in hybrid vehicles in Argentina is HEV mainly because it is the technology incorporated in the Toyota Corolla and Corolla Cross vehicles, which are the only ones produced in Mercosur (Brazil).
Thus, the most sold vehicles in the first half of the year were: 1) Toyota Corolla Cross (3,086 units), 2) Toyota Corolla (1,835), 3) Ford Maverick (403), 4) Coradir Tito (213), 5) Audi A4 (177).
