BMW Lands in Argentina with Ambitious Electromobility Proposal

Despite the economic crisis Argentina is going through with high levels of inflation; government incentives and alliances with international manufacturers that have expressed their commitment to invest in the country, have boosted the arrival of electric vehicles to the market.

Recently, the prestigious BMW Group announced the launch of electrified cars in the nation, after a successful 2022 in Latin America with more than 6,000 electrified cars marketed.

At the event, the manufacturer presented a plug-in hybrid option, through the BMW X3 xDrive30e model. This technology allows customers to enjoy a purely electric drive in their daily lives while ensuring all the autonomy needed for long road trips with the traditional gasoline engine, combining the best of both worlds.

Charging Infrastructure

With a clear focus on customers and taking into account all the details, the firm will provide its users with a “BMW Wallbox”, allowing them to carry out electric charging in their homes or offices in a practical and autonomous way.

Specifically on the importance of having a charging infrastructure, Ivana Dip, CEO of BMW Group Argentina, assured that they have advanced with the investment in electromobility-oriented facilities in the dealership network, and will continue to contribute to public supply centers to reinforce the commitment to the future of premium mobility in Argentina.

“Today we celebrate the beginning of the future in an event designed to strengthen, not only our sales leadership in the local premium segment, but also to thank our customers for their trust in our brands. Thus, BMW Group puts electromobility in your hands in the country,” she added.

For his part, Reiner Braun, President and CEO of BMW Group Latin America, said that the experience and leadership they have in the region in electromobility is a motivation to offer along with each BMW X3 xDrive30e, a Wallbox, so that customers make their charges at home or at work sites.

“The future of premium mobility is environmentally responsible, and the projection is to have at least 50% of electric vehicles in Latin America and likewise in Argentina by the end of this decade,” he said.

The vehicle will be available at all dealerships in the country, which will not only have the necessary infrastructure for the future of electromobility, but also certified technicians to ensure maximum after-sales service.
