BYD made another major revelation in its race to establish itself as one of the leading manufacturers of electric vehicle technology. It is FANGCHENGBAO, its new customized professional sub-brand, as well as its sophisticated technology: the Dual-Mode Super Hybrid All-Terrain Off-Road Platform (DMO).
The first model of the new brand is BAO 5, a super hybrid all-terrain SUV, was presented at an event where, in addition, the BAO 8 and BAO 3 prototypes were unveiled.
The FANGCHENGBAO brand, derived from Chinese phonetics, symbolizes a blend of precision (“FANGCHENG” for “formula”) and agility (“BAO” for “leopard”), and features a number of specialized technologies, including the super-hybrid All Terrain Platform (DMO), which was also unveiled at the event.

At the event, BYD also unveiled the innovative DMO super hybrid all-terrain platform, which is a significant departure from traditional gasoline engines.
This technology powers FANGCHENGBAO vehicles and promises a transformative off-road experience, while championing energy efficiency and equipping each user with the most advanced technology.
DMO combines the revolutionary Monocoque Chassis (Non-Load-Bearing Frame) designed for hybrid vehicles with a specialized off-road hybrid architecture. This integration leverages BYD’s expertise in high-performance chassis, intelligent electric all-wheel drive and off-road powertrains. As a result, BYD achieves an unprecedented balance between vehicle safety, off-road power and energy consumption.
