Chevrolet Prepares Electric Versions of Iconic Corvette

In order to remain one of the leading manufacturers in the automotive industry, General Motors, through its Chevrolet brand, has already designed an important electrification strategy.

The Detroit-based company will use its iconic models to continue attracting customers and strengthening the loyalty of its consumers in the new automotive era.

In this regard, Chevrolet plans to produce hybrid and 100% electric versions. According to reports from the specialized media Muscle Cars & Trucks, a fully electrified sedan and SUV will also be launched.

Features

The first of the proposed units is a sedan that would replicate the design of the Corvette, but would add more interior space. It would be a model that would compete with the Porsche Taycan, an electric family sports car that would fight the Germans and the good sales figures they are reaping.

The SUV would be designed on the same platform as the Blazer EV. Among its main attributes is a high-performance 100% electric mechanics.

It is estimated that the brand will not present this range to the public until 2025.

100% electric

A car that will be available in the short term is the fully electrified C8 Corvette. It is specifically the Chevrolet Corvette C8 PHEV, which would be named Corvette E-Ray and would be available by 2023.

The model will be noise-free with its electric mechanics that will feature three electrified motors, two on the front axle and one on the transmission.

General Motors’ management is determined to break into the electric mobility market, which is why it has set itself the goal of surpassing Tesla in terms of electric vehicle sales. To do so, it announced an investment of 35 billion dollars by 2025.

The brand also announced that it would develop a new line of electric vehicles at “affordable” prices, with production planned for the beginning of 2027.
