Colombia: Energia de Pereira Expands Electric Charging Network

Energía de Pereira, Colombia, announced the inauguration of two new charging stations for electric vehicles, the result of an alliance with Autogermana and the Castilla Plaza and Cerritos del Mar shopping centers, which are strategically located to improve accessibility and support the growth of the electric mobility corridor in the region.

According to the local newspaper El Pereirano, the two new charging stations, inaugurated with a total investment of 80 million pesos, are added to the five existing ones, consolidating a total of seven charging points in Pereira and Cartago.

This expansion not only strengthens Energía de Pereira’s commitment to electric mobility, but also responds to the growing demand and urban development in the area.

Yulieth Porras, Manager of Energía de Pereira, emphasized the importance of this initiative, assuring that it is the future. “We have demonstrated that electric mobility is 100% sustainable.”

“With more than three years of operational experience using 15 electric vehicles without inconveniences, we invite the people of Pereira to adopt this technology that reduces noise, emissions and costs in our homes,” she explained.

Felipe López of Autogermana highlighted that the plan is to extend free access to chargers in the city, making it easier for everyone to charge electric vehicles.

The charging stations offered by Energía de Pereira include fast and semi-fast options, ensuring that users have convenient access to the energy needed for their electric vehicles at strategic locations such as Electrolinera and Castilla Plaza.
