Colombia’s Minister of Mines and Energy, Andrés Camacho, presented a national charging strategy for electric mobility vehicles.
According to Camacho, the plan involves creating a nationwide infrastructure that allows all vehicles to have charging possibilities, as the electric vehicle fleet grows.
According to the local media La República, the minister pointed out that what the strategy seeks is the deployment of charging infrastructure that includes this interoperability, but also includes a series of measures for electromobility and energy efficiency.

Sustainable Future
Camacho emphasized that the energy transition goes hand in hand with the charging companies that at the moment have been fossil companies, known as gas stations or service stations, with the intention of moving them to energy stations, opening up more profitable and sustainable paths.
In his presentation, Camacho remarked that the entity offers an investment portfolio for $81 billion in key projects for the transition of the energy and export matrix.
In April 2024, in order to create mechanisms to facilitate the operation and provision of services to users in charging stations for electric and hybrid vehicles, the Ministry of Mines and Energy issued a resolution focused on electromobility.
With the entry into force of this regulation, users will be able to charge their vehicles at the different charging stations nationwide, with no restrictions on access and subsequent payment.
Likewise, the stations will have the obligation to clearly inform users in advance about the prices of charging, parking, and other associated costs, displaying these details in a disaggregated and visible manner.
