Enel X to Install Charging Infrastructure for Beat Zero Service in Bogota

With the goal of installing a total of 5,000 chargers in public and private spaces by 2024 in Colombia, Enel X continues to establish key partnerships to promote electric mobility in the country and the region.

In this regard, the company reported that it will supply charging infrastructure for the Beat Zero service, a zero-emission mobility solution with hired drivers.

To date, Enel has installed more than 85 public chargers in Colombia, located in charging stations, shopping centers, clubs, supermarkets, among others, and close to 2,500 devices in homes and businesses.

The Partnership: What does it Consist of?

As part of the partnership, Enel X provided three connectors with two chargers each, allowing six vehicles to be charged simultaneously with a power of 45 kW. It should be noted that these supply points are private for the exclusive use of Beat Zero vehicles.

The Manager of Enel X Colombia, Carlos Mario Restrepo, explained that this is a business model that has already proven to be successful in the charging centers that have been adapted for the electric buses of the Integrated Public Transport System (SITP) of Bogota.

He assured that based on the success they have had with the fleets, they will continue to develop agreements with companies and the public sector to expand the recharging infrastructure, and thus contribute to the transformation of sustainable mobility in the region.

“This alliance is consolidated as the first we implemented under the Charging as a Service model for a private fleet of electric vehicles, in addition to being the first with a mobility application,” added Restrepo.

Business Model

The service that Enel X will provide to Beat Zero is also available for companies that require charging infrastructure for their fleets, under the Charging as a Service modality, which consists of the installation of chargers for company vehicles.

Enel X’s Charging as a Service takes care of the space adequacy, installation and operation of the charging points. The customer only worries about charging the vehicles, paying for the place and the energy.

This line of business can be ideal not only for companies with a specific fleet, but also for establishments that need a charger for various reasons.
