Enel X Way Opens Fast Charging Electro-Line in Peru

Enel X Way, in alliance with Petroperú, installed its third fast-charging electric station, with an innovative CCS2 and ChaDeMo type equipment -which delivers up to 60 kW of power and allows fast supply in less than 50 minutes per vehicle.

In order to promote electromobility, electrified cars will be recharged free of charge, thus seeking an approach to new energies in the Peruvian market.

The Lima-Ica route will become the first charging corridor for electric cars nationwide, which represents a key step in the transition towards the decarbonization of the vehicle fleet.

The charger will link Lima with more cities in the south of the country, as it will complement the charging points recently installed in the regions of Chala and Camaná, allowing electric vehicles to reach Arequipa without any inconvenience.

In this way, Petroperu, ENEL X WAY and the service stations of the Petroperu Network promote the development of electromobility in the country, contributing to the sustainable development objectives, allowing access to affordable, safe, sustainable and modern energy for the whole country.

JeanPierre Mendoza, Enel X Way’s Commercial Representative in Peru, pointed out that the charger will make it possible to link the city of Lima with more regions in the south of the country.

“We have the “Pole to Pole” project that will be one of the first to run this route with a 100% electric vehicle. That is why it is important now more than ever that initiatives like the one we are carrying out in Ica hand in hand with Estación el Ovalo and PetroPerú be replicated by other companies and continue developing Electric Mobility in the country,” he said.

Pole to Pole” is an expedition that aims to raise awareness about the climate crisis and the key role that electric vehicles can play in reducing the carbon footprint.

The journey – of more than 17,000 miles – started last March, at the North Pole and will culminate in Antarctica (South Pole), after traveling by e-vehicle across three continents and more than 14 cities.
