Evergo, Element Fleet and JAC Back “99minutos” with Electric Vehicles for Last Mile Delivery

Mexico was one of the Latin American countries that achieved the greatest reduction in carbon dioxide emissions in last-mile logistics.

Industry associations report that route optimizations saved 18 million liters of fuel and avoided the emission of 31,000 tons of CO2 in the country.

The work and incentives from the public sector have been fundamental for the progress made. For example, the Ministry of the Environment (Sedema) issued a program to promote electromobility in light vehicles for the delivery of goods.

One of the benefits is that electric cars receive the exempt type hologram free of charge, while internal combustion cars will have, after payment of duties, the type “A” self-regulation hologram.

Introducing Element Fleet Electric Units

Companies Embracing Technologies

Through an alliance of different companies and cargo suppliers, 99minutos, a company specialized in last mile logistics, presented its new ecological fleet of 25 100% electric units, which will be placed on delivery routes in Mexico City and the State of Mexico.

The project is being carried out with the support of JAC, Evergo and Element Fleet Management Mexico. The new vehicles join the company’s electric fleet, which accumulates approximately 40 units.

The vehicles are model E10X with a range of 300 km. To recharge the cars and manage the fleet, the company established an alliance with Evergo Mexico and Element Fleet Management Mexico, respectively.

Isidoro Massri, CEO of JAC Motors Mexico, highlighted the progress of electric vehicles and their position in the domestic market, where currently six out of every 10 electric cars are of this brand.
