Geotab published the 2023 Sustainability and Impact Report, “Trust. Transparency. Transformation,” in which it highlights how data analytics helps the company and global organizations better measure and achieve climate goals.
The report also points out the difficult challenges of managing business and environmental impact, including business travel and much-needed transparency associated with Scope 3 emissions.
Neil Cawse, Founder and CEO of Geotab, said the climate crisis needs action. “The transportation industry is one of the largest sources of CO2 emissions with tremendous opportunity to make a positive impact in the short term.”
“As a close partner to the industry, we have a moral obligation to do our part to reduce carbon emissions – not only for ourselves, but also for our customers,” he added.
Geotab’s Technology
Geotab‘s big impact is in supporting clients and partners to drive transformation through data-driven insights and AI, enabling informed decision making while reporting and monitoring progress at all stages of the sustainability journey.
In a recent survey by Geotab, 87% of U.S. fleet professionals expect their cost of business to grow by 2024 and 40% confirm they use data intelligence to create more sustainable fleets by detecting and improving fuel economy opportunities.
Data-driven insights about fuel usage, routing improvements, emissions management, improved driving behavior such as reduced harsh braking, and the integration of electric vehicles into fleets help manage costs and maximize revenue.
As part of its commitment to a more sustainable world, Geotab has pledged to reach the goal of zero emissions by 2040 – a decade earlier than that set by the Paris Agreement – and is aiming for a 50% reduction in emissions across Scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 2030.
