GWM Considers Introducing Wey Luxury Brand to Brazil

Chinese automaker GWM is considering expanding its presence in Brazil with the introduction of its luxury brand, Wey, directly threatening established manufacturers such as Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW.

In that sense, the Wey 05, a high-end hybrid SUV, is expected to be the brand’s flagship model in the South American country, a vehicle designed with elements of luxury, comfort and advanced technology, which, if it arrives, promises to be a threat.

With a 2.0 turbo front engine and two electric propellants, it delivers 483 horsepower and is equipped with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5 seconds.

More Details about the Wey 05

In addition to its performance, the Wey 05 features a 39.7 kWh battery that provides a range of 146 km in electric mode. It also includes advanced safety features, level 3 semi-autonomous driving systems, 360º camera and head-up display with augmented reality.

Finally, all this means that the possible incursion of the Wey brand in the Brazilian market will contribute to the diversification of the industry in the country, as it should be noted that the company currently operates in Brazil with two lines of electric vehicles: the Haval H6 SUV and the Ora 03 hatch.
