Hitachi Energy, previously called ABB Hitachi Power Grids, launched IdentiQ™, the power quality and high-voltage direct current (HDVC) digital twin solution, either from a static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) or any other power quality source, to contribute to a more sustainable, flexible and secure global power system, enhancing efforts toward an emission-free future.
IdentiQ™ provides asset information, analysis and important operational data in a user-friendly dashboard, as explained by its developers through the Asian company’s official press release. Among the highlights are the interactive 3D visualization of the entire element, as well as easy access to all the information related to the plant or equipment by means of a single click.
“IdentiQ is a game-changing digital twin solution based on our unique domain expertise and leadership in power grid technologies and innovation. It is a significant addition to the company’s digital offering and supports our customers’ efforts to continuously improve the efficiency and reliability of their grid investments,” said Niklas Persson, General Manager of Hitachi Energy’s Grid Integration Business.
As Persson mentioned, through this tool, the company’s customers will be able to improve grid asset management by having all information in a single digital location, providing accurate data at the right times to streamline, improve and optimize decision making.
Sustainability, Flexibility and Security
The sustainability Hitachi Energy brings with IdentiQ™ is made possible by digitizing information present physically (paper) at older facilities. Flexibility arises after being able to adapt to the different needs and requirements of those who use the system, and finally, security is guaranteed at all times through the high standards and levels of technological security that protect data and information from being stolen, lost or destroyed.
