The Secretary of Social Development (Sedesson) of the Government of Sonora delivered 400 bicycles and safety helmets in the municipality of Ures.
The initiative, with a total investment of 953,520 Mexican pesos, seeks to strengthen well-being and promote sustainable mobility among its citizens.
Nine municipalities and their respective mayors were present at the ceremony: Arizpe, Bacoachi, Huepac, Banámichi, Baviácora, Rayón, Opodepe, San Felipe de Jesús and the host municipality, Ures, Sonora.
Wendy Briceño Zuloaga, Head of Sedesson, emphasized the priority given by the State Governor, Alfonso Durazo Montaño, to programs that favor mobility.

Regional Progress
The Sonora Government has had important meetings with the Ministry of Economy, with the vision of giving continuity to the efforts aimed at attracting investments for mining projects, especially those related to electromobility and semiconductor production.
In addition, Durazo’s administration conducted several tours in Europe and Asia during 2023, seeking to consolidate alliances and attract investments from companies related to these strategic sectors.
It is worth noting that, in terms of metallurgical production, Sonora reached 31.4% of the total mining extraction in the country, surpassing other important mining entities in Mexico such as Zacatecas, Durango and Chihuahua.
Latam Mobility in Monterrey
Latam Mobility, Latin America’s largest sustainable mobility community, will arrive in Monterrey on February 8 with the “North America Mobility and Net Zero Summit 2024”.
The meeting will bring together industry leaders, major automotive manufacturers and prominent representatives from the public sector, who will offer perspectives and projects on sustainable mobility in Mexico and the region.
