New Agreement will Boost Electric Mobility in Brazil

The electromobility boom in Brazil is attracting the attention of manufacturers and technology companies to invest and boost sustainable mobility in the country and the region.

Only in March 2023, the Brazilian market for light electric vehicles registered 5,989 units, representing a growth of 55.5% compared to March 2022 (3,851). It was the best March and the second best period in the entire historical series of the Brazilian Association of Electric Vehicles, as counted since 2012.

In this regard, Maxion Structural Components, a business division of Iochpe-Maxion and one of the largest producers of automotive structural components in Latin America, and Forsee Power, a European leader-specializing in smart battery systems for sustainable transportation, partnered to offer the integration of battery systems for electric vehicles, especially in the chassis of trucks, buses and off-road vehicles.

Both companies aim to offer a complete solution that enables customers to obtain the best battery system integration design to maximize the use of available volume, while optimizing overall weight, without compromising payload and power to achieve the required range.

Forsee Power will bring to the partnership its extensive experience in battery and advanced energy storage technologies. The Group specializes in lithium-ion battery systems and offers a wide range of formats and technologies that enable fast charging, overnight charging and power for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

For its part, Iochpe-Maxion will bring its extensive experience in the automotive industry and its large-scale production capabilities, including for chassis and structural components.
