Porsche VE pushes their sales in the first quarter of the year: Brand Sold 9,072 Taycan

Despite the economic crisis generated by the global pandemic, during 2020 Porsche managed to sell more than 20,000 copies of its Taycan model worldwide, a figure that intends to exceed this year.

And the German brand announced through its web portal that in the first quarter of 2021 it sold at least 71,986 vehicles, numbers that represent an increase of 36% compared to the same period the previous year.

China continues to be the country with the most customers. Only in the Asian nation were 21,991 units purchased, 56% more than in 2021. Meanwhile, the United States follows the step with about 17,368, registering 45% growth. Germany, for its part, acquired 5,957 vehicles, marking a positive difference of + 14% that places it in third place.

“We are extremely pleased that the community of Porsche customers continues to grow all over the world,” says Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing in the German firm, at the same time that he reported that order orders continue to evolve.

Porsche electric, responsible for growth

Much of the rise in sales for Porsche corresponds to the inclusion of electric vehicles to its catalog of luxury sports cars.

“Established models have supported this excellent result along with the latest additions to our product range, above all the new model variants of the all-electric Taycan. Thanks to the great appeal of our brand and a consistent sustainability strategy, we can look back on a very positive start to the year,” Platen stated.

Of the almost 72,000 vehicles sold by Porsche, at least 9,072 were of its first electric model, the Taycan, which ranked fourth in the most requested cars behind the 911 (9,133), Cayenne (19,533) and finally Macan (22,458) respectively.

With the aforementioned data, the great acceptance that the Porsche VE has around the world is evident, since the difference in sales between the Macan and Taycan has been only 61 copies.
