Latin America has become a region with great opportunities to apply new technologies in sustainable mobility, due to the high level of congestion, pollution and aging of the vehicle fleet in large cities.
Faced with this scenario, major automotive manufacturers have expanded their operations to implement electromobility solutions, taking into account that they are environmentally friendly innovations that also open up other business models.
In this sense, the iconic French brand Renault held the “Renault E-Tech Days”, an event focused on presenting its proposals in areas such as sustainability, mobility and technology.
During the meeting held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the company’s executives presented their plans for Latin America regarding the launch of electric vehicles and investments in charging infrastructure.

Announcements
Renault reported that by 2030 they expect to have between 250 and 350,000 electric cars, which means 5% of the market, since the numbers indicate that in that year electrified vehicles will be around five million, according to data provided by Renault’s commercial director for Latin America, Jorge Portugal.
They announced the arrival of the 100% electric Kwid E-Tech to the Brazilian market this month and the launch of Kwid E-Tech in the other Latin American countries for the first half of 2023.
The introduction of the electric Megane E-Tech is also planned for the first half of 2023 in Brazil and Argentina, and in the second half of 2023 for Colombia and Mexico.
In addition, the Kangoo E-Tech electric is expected to arrive in the first half of 2023 in Brazil and in the second half of 2023 for Argentina, Colombia and Mexico.
Solid Roadmap
The announcements made by Renault are part of the “Renolution” strategy, launched in 2020, which has three main axes: to give financial health to the group, deliver new products and transform itself into a technology company, an initiative that began with Mobilize, the new mobility services brand.
The role that Latin America will assume in electromobility will be fundamental, which is why Renault will invest 33 billion euros in electric cars.
