The 10th Latin American Sustainable Mobility Summit will Bring Together South America’s Leading Representatives of the Sector

  • Latam Mobility keeps on promoting sustainable mobility in Latin America with its 10th regional summit and the 3rd of 2021 in a virtual format.
  • The meeting will have three days dedicated to South America’s main markets, with a special attention on Brazil, and a third day focused on promoting zero-emission motorsports.

The Latin American sustainable mobility regional community, Latam Mobility, organizes its third virtual summit of the year with the attendance of the region’s major references from public and private sectors, expanding its horizons through three days, each of them planned on a different language.

On October 6, 7 and 8, thousands of executives from Latin America and around the world will have the opportunity to know for free about the progress and future plans in public policies to promote sustainable mobility, charging infrastructure, public transport electrification, mobility advances as a service, electric vehicle manufacturers’ challenges and other interesting subjects, through high-level panels with ministers, managers and CEOs.

The meeting’s first day will be focused on Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Peru, four countries with great potential that have made significant progress over the last few months in terms of regulations and laws that will lay foundations towards a more sustainable mobility.

Peru recently approved a regulation for installing and operating an electric mobility charging infrastructure, while Chile is expanding its public transportation fleets with carbon-free units throughout the country.

Meanwhile, Argentina increases its potential in terms of lithium use and extraction for domestic consumption and export. Uruguay, on the other hand, is developing a sustainable mobility-oriented urban planning and promoting electric mobility incentives.

Considering these scenarios, it will be a favorable opportunity to establish routes to decarbonize the transport sector under the Paris Agreement guidelines for 2030 and 2050.

On Thursday, October 7, Brazil will be the Summit’s spotlight. The country’s main players will meet for a Portuguese-language session to promote a rich debate on sustainable mobility in one of the American continent’s leading markets. The conference will be attended by leading public authorities, manufacturers, and sustainable mobility solution and service providers.

The zero-emission sports agenda

Motor sports have a fundamental role for mobility development. The last ten years have seen the emergence of new and incredible zero-emission vehicle categories, providing excitement and entertainment to every corner of our planet, but also operating as real research centers for the creation of future transportation solutions.

The program for this great meeting will close on Friday 8 with the Green Racing Virtual Summit, an English-language session dedicated to zero-emission motor sports, which are growing exponentially due to their diversity, considering the fact that electric vehicle races can currently be seen in the most remote places in the world, and also in maritime and aerial environments.

This will be the 5th Virtual Summit hosted by Latam Mobility, an Invest in Latam initiative which, despite the global crisis caused by Covid-19, has brought together the leading representatives of sustainable mobility, including presidents, ministers, secretaries and CEOs from the most relevant companies in the sector, offering free and quality content in order to promote regional transformation, job creation and opportunities related to this sector.

It is worth mentioning that in June was held the organization’s last summit, attended by Colombia’s and Costa Rica’s Presidents, and gathering more than 18,000 people and dozens of media interested in sustainable mobility.
