Transforming Electric Mobility in South America: The Success of Mobility Energy

Latam Mobility Summit Conosur Chile witnessed an outstanding presentation by Martín Gallegos, CEO of Mobility Energy, where he shared experiences and advances in the field of innovation and design of industrial systems, particularly focused on station automation and related technological issues.

Gallegos began his career in this sector 30 years ago, highlighting the importance of adapting and finding solutions in times of challenges, such as the pandemic. He proceeded to explain the evolution of Mobility Energy and its foray into the development of electric chargers.

This arose in response to the need to address specific problems in the area of electrical charging in South and Central America, where electrical voltages and voltages presented unique challenges due to their difference from European and Asian standards.

“The company began its trajectory by providing special transformers for charging stations and structures for the oil and gas sector,” says Gallegos, where one of the key actions in its history was the manufacture of 46 high-power chargers for public system buses in Bogota.

“This project that addressed the need to recharge vehicles in a challenging, mountainous area. The experience led Mobility Energy to focus on creating chargers rather than infrastructure, which marked the beginning of a new phase in its development,” continued the CEO.

Standards and Regulations

Martin Gallegos highlighted the importance of understanding the rules and regulations in the electric charging industry and how this was fundamental in its approach to designing and manufacturing electric chargers.

The company was committed to thoroughly understanding these regulations in order to certify its products and ensure that they met the necessary standards.

In addition, the presentation emphasized the company’s philosophy of maintaining the availability of its chargers and providing exceptional service to its customers. “The creation of a service network to ensure that no charger is out of service for extended periods was highlighted,” he said.

Also, attention to technical details, such as heat dissipation and simultaneous charging, was highlighted as an integral part of their approach to delivering high-quality, high-performance chargers.

Finally, in addition to showcasing its origin and functions, the presentation made it clear that Mobility Energy has plans for continued expansion and development, with a focus on analytics and machine learning to improve the efficiency and reliability of its chargers.

Gallego also mentioned his interest in additional businesses, such as integration with solar energy and the constant search for innovative solutions to challenges in the electric charging industry.
