Volvo Cars Chile Joins the “Ruta Eléctrica” Project

The interesting “Electric Route” project, which seeks to tour 42 national parks in Chile on electrified models, will be supported by Volvo Cars. The aim of the program is to bring electromobility to every corner of the country.

The C40 Recharge will transport photographer Benjamín Valenzuela and his wife Ignacia Jory, who are the driving force behind the challenge. The first destination will be the Lauca National Park, a tourist attraction located in the region of Arica and Parinacota, which covers an area of more than 137,000 hectares.

Vehicle Capacity

The premise of building the most sustainable and high quality vehicles is linked to the development of the C40 Recharge Pure Electric. In fact, this is the first model of the brand that is manufactured with 100% recycled materials, so the entire interior was developed to deliver a true expression of sustainable luxury.

To make it possible to travel every corner of the country, the C40 Recharge has a 78 kWh battery, which allows driving up to 440 kilometers on a single charge, according to the WLTP cycle, recharging in just 40 minutes up to 80 percent, if done in a fast charging port.

Navigation is key to find each destination and for this, this model has the latest Google Service and Google Maps technology, which added to the voice command, will allow the “Electric Route” team to reach any destination.

Electric Mobility Support

“As Volvo Cars Chile we are very excited to be part of this interesting project that will demonstrate that there are no limits for the C40 Recharge, which can travel up to 440 kilometers on a single charge,” said Rodrigo Espinoza, Manager of Volvo Cars Chile.

“In this way, we will continue to promote personal, sustainable and safe mobility aboard the most ecological model ever manufactured by Volvo Cars and travel every corner of Chile with Benjamín and Ignacia,” he said.

For his part, Valenzuela celebrated the support of Volvo and other sponsors that accompany him on the route. “Thanks to Volvo Cars Chile, for trusting in this beautiful project that will reach people through the different social networks, taking our experience on board the C40 Recharge to the next level. We are confident that the performance of this 100% electric model will take us smoothly from the far north to the southern part of Chile”.
