Fiat Launches First 100% Electric Car in Chile

Fiat launched its first 100% electric vehicle with the Fiat 500e model, which is now in its second year of presence in the global market as part of the brand’s transition towards electric mobility.

The new Fiat 500e offers as its main novelty an electric powertrain. The lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 42 kWh that feeds a propellant capable of generating a power of 87 kW or 118 Hp with a torque of 220 Nm.

Regarding the autonomy, the data sheet indicates that it can travel 330 km, but the brand pointed out that a mainly urban use and with a quiet style, could reach 460 km.

In order to improve performance, it has three driving modes, prioritizing more dynamism or energy economy.

On recharging time, the Italian firm indicated that it achieves up to 50 km in 5 minutes on ultrafast chargers (up to 85 kW) and in 35 minutes reaches 80% of the total battery in the same type of installation. Now, on an 11 kW charger, the time can reach 6 hours.

Urban Model

Designed for the city, it measures 3,631 mm long, 1,900 mm wide (with mirrors) and 1,527 mm high. The trunk has a cargo capacity of 337 liters, expandable to 550 liters with the rear seats folded down.

True to its essence, it has a number of details that make it different, such as the door handles, which in this case are electric controls with e-latch system. In this case, you touch a button hidden on the inside and unlock the car to open the door.

Inside, technology is an essential part, highlighting a 10.25′’ multimedia center, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The digital dashboard is 7″ and reminds a bit of the past with its round style.

In terms of safety, the equipment is the highest offered by the vehicle in Europe, with multiple driving assists (ADAS). It has a fatigue detector, where it recommends a coffee break with an acoustic and visual signal on the instrumentation.

In addition to this, there are six airbags, pedestrian or cyclist detector that brakes the vehicle up to a speed of 130 km/h, lane keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, 11 sensors that detect obstacles around and are seen as a zenithal image, rear camera, among others.
