The “Latam Mobility: North America Mobility & Net Zero Summit”, organized by Invest in Latam in Monterrey, presented the panel “Transportation in Business and Fleet Management Solutions,” where industry leaders gave their perspectives on the subject.
Fernanda Enriquez, Marketing Manager of SAMSARA, explained that the company is a comprehensive platform that helps companies to electrify fleets, maintain costs and streamline operating processes so that vehicles have optimal performance.
She stressed the importance of digitizing processes so that they are consolidated in one place and everyone involved has access to the information.
“We must focus on the data part, understand the data and where it can guide me. From that, we will arrive at an efficient transition to sustainable mobility,” Enriquez stressed.
Hitachi Energy, Partner in the Transition
Javier Nova, Industry Segment Leader eMobility at Hitachi Energy, noted that the focus of the electric mobility division within the company is to be a partner, ally and consultant in comprehensive electrification solutions for companies to achieve the transition, helping decarbonization initiatives.
He considers data management or digitization fundamental, as the electric ecosystem is involving vehicles. “To make consumption efficient it is important to digitize, integrate renewable energy sources, we can monitor to fleet operation and its charging infrastructure.”
He noted that Hitachi Energy has a robust technology that allows to establish route planning, maintenance, spare parts, electrical energy sources, integrate electrical energy storage system, among other solutions for fleet management.
Heineken’s Transition
David Gallardo Ayón, Heineken‘s Director of Warehousing and Transportation, explained at the “Latam Mobility: North America Mobility & Net Zero Summit“, that the company has a well-defined roadmap in terms of sustainability through the slogan “let’s provide a better world”.
He detailed that one of Heineken’s goals is to be carbon neutral, a transition that is already underway through sustainable value chain components, with the objective of generating a positive impact in the future.
“Sustainable mobility is very extensive, it is a challenge. In the efficiency segment, we are looking for optimal distances to travel the most kilometers. We seek circularity to reduce carbon emissions, we have a whole primary logistics in efficient delivery routes with fewer kilometers and lower emissions,” Gallardo pointed out.
Element Fleet Technology
Jesús Guajardo, Commercial Director of Element Fleet, explained that the company’s focus is to help companies from the purchase, leasing and maintenance programs of fleets applying telemetry to offer a comprehensive vision and complete solution for fleets to be more efficient, safe and transform towards electrification.
“We see a giant opportunity born out of the transportation footprint problem. We are seeing a transition and interest from companies, since in 2023 there was a 232% increase in sales of electric units,” he said.
He highlighted that Element Fleet has a great technology that brings together many new brands, components and cargo suppliers.
Guajardo underscored the importance of the progress being made by the public sector to support the transition to electric mobility in companies.
