Enel X and Toyota Sign Agreement to Offer Charging Points to Customers

As part of its strategy to lead electric mobility on a global scale, Enel X announced a key partnership with Toyota that promises to break all technological boundaries.

In this regard, the electromobility division of the prestigious Italian group will make its domestic and public charging services available to Toyota and Lexus drivers.

According to an official statement issued by Enel, the new alliance means that anyone driving an electric or plug-in hybrid Toyota or Lexus will be able to use Enel X Way‘s advanced solutions and technologies to charge their vehicle.

High Innovation

Toyota and Lexus customers will be offered an in-home charging station that can be controlled remotely via a mobile app, and the opportunity to purchase coupons to use the charging points on the street.

“The agreement with Toyota demonstrates how important it is to build synergies with leading automakers to provide customers with high-tech charging solutions that are easy to use for daily commuting,” said Federico Caleno, CEO of Enel X Way Italia.

He assured that this partnership allows them to meet the growing demand for personal home charging systems, which are a key part of the core business along with the daily commitment to make Italy’s public charging network, currently comprising 17,000 Enel X Way charging points, even more extensive. and efficient.

For his part, Luigi Ksawery Luca, CEO of Toyota Motor Italia, said the agreement is vital to achieving the targets set by the European Union on electromobility.

“It is becoming imperative that all key stakeholders cooperate, not only institutions, but also all operators in the mobility and energy sector, and even individual citizens. In this regard, by working together with Enel X Way, we will be able to provide our customers with comprehensive solutions that can be used with peace of mind and will therefore help accelerate the transition to electric mobility,” he explained.

Applied Technology

The 7.4 kW WayBox Procellular is the charging solution added to the range of accessories for Toyota and Lexus electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Enel details on its web portal that it is a home charging station with a three-year warranty, which can be connected via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or SIM card to the Enel X Way charging infrastructure control and monitoring platform to provide remote assistance.

Charging operations can be easily managed through the Enel X Way JuicePass app.

In addition, Toyota and Lexus customers will also have the opportunity to purchase the JuicePack Street, a 1,385 kWh voucher for public vehicle charging, which can be used at Enel X Way and other charging stations that are interoperable with the Enel X Way JuicePass app.
