Smart Cities and Smart Mobility at Latam Mobility’s Regional Summit on March 9 and 10

Trends, projects and goals regarding sustainable mobility and smart cities in Latin America will be the main topics to be discussed at the Latam Smart Mobility & Cities Virtual Summit, on March 9 and 10, attended by secretaries, directors and managers of key public sector agencies.

The private sector will be represented by senior representatives of companies committed to the transport decarbonization and digitalization as an engine to make urban environments smarter while reducing their carbon emissions.

Green hydrogen will also have a space for discussion, where players from the main associations in Europe and Latin America will talk about the ways of massification of this fuel, presented as a great alternative for electromobility.

Day 1: Smart Cities

“The Sustainable Mobility Revolution in Cities”. Under this name, leaders of major cities from countries such as Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Uruguay will present the plans developed over the last two years, specifically in terms of bicycles and scooters since the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Are citizens and companies aware of the urgency to decarbonize urban mobility? Have infrastructures and regulations improved to facilitate the sustainable transition? These will be some of the questions to be addressed by the panelists under the guidance of Jaime Ruíz Huescar, Co-Founder of Cities-Forum.

Next, it will be the turn of the panel “The Status of Decarbonization of Public Transport in Latin American Cities”, with representatives of major companies such as Busscar, Transdev and BYD Motors Colombia, under the moderation of VEMO’s Commercial Director, Jorge Suárez.

The day will end with a conversation on the “Latest Trends in Electric Vehicle Technology and Charging Infrastructure”, with six experts from leading companies of the sector: Porsche, Blink Charging, Siemens, Enel X, Wallbox and EPM. DHL’s Global Customer Director, Juan Moran, will be in charge of the questions.

Day 2: Smart Mobility

With representatives from Repsol, the Mexican Hydrogen Association, the Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2) and the Costa Rican Hydrogen Association, the topic to be discussed at the opening panel will be “Green Hydrogen: An Alternative to Electromobility to Reach Zero Emissions in Transportation”. The Business Management and Innovation VP of Grupo Energia Bogota, Alvaro Villasante, will be in charge of leading the space.

Leaders of the mobility solutions platforms Geotab, Optibus, Meep and Taxia Life, will shape the panel entitled “Perspectives for Mobility as a Service (MaaS) in Latin American Cities”, where participants will address the before and after of the sector, with the changes generated by the pandemic as the central axis.

Finally, the “Current Status and Perspectives for Smart Urban Mobility” will be the last discussion front”, with key players from companies such as BusUp, Microsoft and Proeza Ventures. Invest in Latam’s Director of Sustainability, Jessica Ordóñez, will moderate the panel.

The meeting, which will provide thousands of executives from Latin America and the Caribbean with valuable content at no cost, is a vital part of the agenda prepared for 2022 by the leading community in sustainable mobility, Latam Mobility.

In June, the organization will resume face-to-face meetings, starting with Latam Mobility: Colombia, which will take place at the Orquideorama Botanical Garden in Medellin.
