Wallbox Reaches more than 500,000 Chargers Sold Worldwide

During the “Latam Mobility Summit: Colombia 2023”, Felipe García, Account Executive Latam of Wallbox, presented the company’s progress and goals to be achieved in the short term, celebrating that its operations are already in 100 countries.

Recently, the Spanish company reported that it has sold more than half a million chargers globally. These are implements for home charging and for public and semi-public charging, including its super-fast DC charger, Supernova.

“In just six years, Wallbox has managed 45 million charging sessions and administered 681 GWh of energy, figures that are equivalent to more than 4 billion kilometers by car,” the firm’s Co-Founder and CEO told La Información newspaper, Enric Asunción.

“Considering that we have only installed around 3% of the chargers needed to meet the energy transition targets, it becomes clear that we are only just exploring the energy management potential of electric vehicle charging,” he added.

Difficulties

Wallbox, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, has had to lower its growth expectations.

The company closed the first half of the year with operating losses of 67.6 million, up 19.6% from the same period in 2022, and 68.1 million in revenue, virtually the same as then, but projected to break even.

The company registered more than one million users worldwide on its myWallbox and Electromaps platforms.

MyWallbox, the company’s smart charging and energy management software, enables users to take full advantage of its products’ energy management capabilities, saving time and money, and charging more sustainably at home and at work.

For its part, Electromaps, a company acquired by Wallbox in 2020 and a digital platform for accessibility to charging points in southern Europe, already connects more than 655,000 registered users to a network of more than 588 thousand charging points worldwide – 365 thousand charging points in Europe alone.
