Nestlé is actively engaged in the fight against climate change, prioritizing its pledge to attain carbon neutrality by 2050, aiming to consistently and significantly diminish its environmental impact.
In this context, in collaboration with Empresas Masiques, Nestlé has chosen to deploy the first Renault Trucks E-Tech T unit on the roads of Spain. This company based in Barcelona with its operational hub in the Port of Barcelona, serves as a key ally in this initiative.
This vehicle, entirely devoid of polluting emissions and boasting reduced noise pollution, has been specifically designated for regional transport. It features a capacity of 540 kWh, divided among 6 lithium-ion battery packs.

Additionally, it is equipped with three electric motors capable of producing up to 490 kW (660 hp) of power. Moreover, its fast-charging capability, reaching up to 250 kW, enhances the vehicle’s operational flexibility by minimizing downtime required for recharging during daily operations.
It’s important to emphasize that this recharge is conducted using electricity sourced from renewable sources. Furthermore, the integration of this new vehicle is expected to result in an estimated reduction of 120 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
Nestlé is Actively Engaged in the Decarbonization of its Transportation Routes
The Renault Trucks E-Tech T will undertake daily routes of up to 430 kilometers, linking Nestlé’s Green Coffee Terminal in the Customs Free Zone of the Port of Barcelona with the Nescafé soluble coffee and Nescafé Dolce Gusto capsules production plants in Girona, as well as the Bonka roasted coffee plant in Reus.
Lastly, this truck complements another electric trailer that the company has been utilizing since last October, covering various routes in the central region of the country. Both additions to its fleet are aimed at bolstering its sustainability efforts and reducing its environmental footprint in freight transportation.
